As promised, the interview.
I'm not sure if it was all the talk of "natural," or the seeing the roots in the picture, but I dyed my hair. The color was called "Sand Dunes." The color on my head doesn't look like any sand dune I've ever seen. It is close to my natural color, I think. I haven't actually seen the natural color for, gosh, for I can't even remember when it was. It looks good, I guess. Well, at least some people are saying it looks good. I, however, haven't decided yet. When I look in the mirror, it just doesn't look like me. But, the dog recognized me, and the kids in class recognized me, and my children still called me mom, so I guess it isn't as dramatic as I think. I wonder though, can I still be SunnyK without blonde hair?
In case your wondering (and I know you are) my husband actually likes the darker color. He always wants me to dye it this color, or not dye it, so it is this color. Whatever. My mom, on the other hand, probably won't like this color. Of course she won't say that she doesn't like it. Whenever I do this, she has this look, or "un-look" (she can't make eye contact), and she usually makes a comment about my naturally blonde hair. To her, no matter what color my hair is (and it has been many, many colors), I am a blonde.
I think I consider myself a blonde, so I doubt this color will stay very long. Thank goodness for semi-permanent colors. Wouldn't it be nice if everything could be changed as fast and as effortlessly as hair color. |
