I don't know what to say. What can you say? People need help. Help anyway you can.

I debated putting this banner up again. I originally used it after the Tsunami in December 2004, without success. I felt bad because I did not earn any money to send the victims. And, truthfully, I also felt bad because I didn't sell any, not one. That went through my head when I thought about putting it up again. What's the point? I'm not going to sell any anyway, so why bother. Why bother? Because people need help. If I sell some, great, if I don't great too--I tried. It is always a good thing to try to do something (even if it is not successful). And, I also thought, even if I don't actually earn any money to send, maybe, just by posting this here reminded someone to donate. That too, is a great thing. Every little bit helps. Every little thing we do in a positive way is a step forward. So, that is why I decided to post it again. I chose art, because that is what I can do. I am not a doctor, nurse, or wealthy person. I can not donate as much as I would like (I just don't have it). I can not go to the Mississippi or Louisiana to help--I am not in a position to right now. My gift is art, and if I can use it to help, that's what I must do.
I donated the original painting at an art fair I recently participated in(Arts on the Edge). I chanced it off and earned $53. My initial reaction was, "That's it. Only $53." Then I realized that is a great starting point. It is only the beginning. I can and will do more. |

Hi Kelly, I have not been by in a while. I too have tried to raise some $ for Katrina. I have a calendar for sale. I have only sold two. Not much at all considering the tiny profit I will receive and send but it is the THOUGHT that counts. Really. I believe that doing things like this, whether we sell or not, we are planting little seeds in peoples minds about how anyone can help and that people are trying and that we each in our own way
