The days after |
So, maybe I shouldn't declare that I'm going to write more post here, because, quite frankly...I'm not really great at sticking too it. Ask Angela, she'll tell you.
So, anyway, I'm grateful for the option to write here or not. In general I am grateful for all the choices I have in my life. I can write or not. I can exercise or not. Basically, I can do what I want to do...or not. It's my choice. I don't always make the right choices (if there really is such a thing as right or wrong as far as choices go), but I always have them, and for that I am grateful.
I'm grateful for a pretty low key Christmas. I stressed WAY less this year on what to buy, and my shopping experiences were not bad at all. A few returns have to be done, but I'm totally OK with that. If you don't love something, don't keep it is my motto. The rest was pretty good. I'm not gonna lie, I had a few freak out moments this year (don't we all), but all and all not too bad. I'll take that.
I'm grateful for a family that forgives my freak-out moments and loves me in spite of them.
I'm grateful for the day after the day after Christmas return lines at Old Navy. In and out, no hassle. I like that.
I'm grateful for every gift I received. I'm grateful that I have people in my life that think enough of me to choose thoughtful gifts that they know I'll like and enjoy. Some favorites: crayons and a sketchbook, Pajamas, a new tripod, seat covers...OH, I loved everything, so, everything is my favorite. |

Slacker |
I'm grateful for Angela, who reminded me that I'm being a slacker.
I'm grateful for snow, again. Amazing, huh? Any time the snow alters my work day, I'll be grateful. Today the snow allowed me to have a delayed start. Woo Hoo!
I'm grateful for cookie swaps. It's very cool to bake 6 dozen of one kind of cookie and then swap them out for 6 different kinds. My family was very grateful, too.
I'm grateful for my dogs. I just adore the love I get from them. They are always so happy to see me, especially in the morning. OK, so it might be because I let them out, but still, they're excited.
I'm grateful for four wheel drive trucks. They go pretty much anywhere when it snows, and they'll go where other cars won't, like the mall in a snow storm. Ray, had a great idea to go shopping last night in the middle of the storm. Brilliant idea...NO LINES! I love to snow shop. |

Why I love snow |
Gratitude for snow days from someone who really doesn't like snow--proving that you can be grateful for anything.
I'm grateful for snow because it got me a snow day off from work(another perk of the job).
I'm grateful for snow because shoveling it is good exercise.
I'm grateful for snow because being stuck inside with a day off got me motivated to work on my novel synopsis.
I'm grateful for snow because my daughters got a day off from school, and the reaction was awesome, "Yes, I love my life!" Great to hear, because usually I hear the opposite of that.
I'm grateful for snow because of afternoon naps.
I'm grateful for snow because of the "quiet" it gives. Go stand outside in a snowstorm and you'll know what I mean.
I'm grateful for snow because of the beautiful scenery it provides.
I'm grateful for snow because it helps with droughts.
I'm grateful for snow because it gives a great excuse to have hot chocolate and whipped cream.
I'm grateful for snow because it's the perfect weather for homemade chicken noodle soup with fresh carrots, celery and Acini di Pepe left over whole wheat spaghetti noodles.

Shop 'til you drop |
I'm grateful for a day off to do Christmas stuff. I used mine to go shopping with the hubby.
I'm grateful for the money I have to shop for Christmas. My family always has a wonderful Christmas. I am truly grateful that I have always been able to provide this. Say what you will about gift giving...I feel it is an expression of love, and I'm glad I'm able to give.
I'm grateful for snack size Microwave popcorn. I whole bag to myself, without the guilt!
I'm grateful for my beautiful twin daughters. I'm grateful that I am learning to accept them and love them for who they are, not for who I expected them to be. This parenting thing is a tad trying at times, but I am supremely grateful that I have had the blessing of doing it.
I'm grateful for my son who calls me from 400 miles away to let me know he made it home safe from class in the snow. |

Sales and Smiles |
I'm grateful for my king size bed with too many pillows and blankets, and waking up toasty warm under the excess.
I'm grateful for surprise sales of my artwork. I keep a much neglected etsy shop to sell my artwork. I rarely update it (yes, I know that's horrible marketing), and I am always pleasantly surprised when an order hits my in-box.
I'm grateful for strangers who smile and say hello when we pass on the street.
I'm grateful for pleasant sales clerks at lunch hour.
I'm grateful for 3 ingredient (plus a little seasoning) dinners: shimp/whole wheat pasta/broccoli with a touch of butter (I use the spray stuff myself) and garlic salt. mmmmmm easy scampi! |

"Homemade" the fast way |
I'm grateful for vanilla creamer in my coffee. And, happy I went to the store the night before, so I could have it first thing in the morning.
I'm grateful for slice and bake cookies. The smell of them baking motivated us to decorate for Christmas. Nothing beats the smell of fresh baked cookies, even if they aren't "homemade".
I'm grateful for my husband for hanging the high wreaths and stringing lights on the outdoor tree.
I'm grateful that I have a home to decorate.
I'm grateful for take-out. Quiznos after a long day of decorating beats cooking anyday. |

Hot chocolate, coolwhip and memories |
I'm grateful for hot chocolate with coolwhip.
I'm grateful for the Internet...for more reasons than I can count, but today it's because of online shopping. Low shipping, deep discounts, no lines, front door delivery...what more can one ask for.
I'm grateful for lazy Saturday afternoons.
I'm grateful for a warm house on a very cold day.
I'm grateful for memories of my wonderful grandfather. I went to his house for maybe the last time today. It has been sold and the closing is on Friday. I shed a few tears as I stood in his workshop. He had a wonderful life. I had a wonderful grandfather. I have the best memories...those will never die. |
